Sharing Ideas

When we wanted to come up with a name for our company in late 2004, we were constrained by our familiarity with so many other brand names in the services business. We just couldn’t think of any suitable name that did not scream “Copy Cat”. After several frustrating attempts, we realized that we will have to look internally if we want to come up with a name that best reflects who we are as a company. Symbioun was born as a result of a merger between Saka Solutions (A predominantly India based company), and Instcomp (an US based consulting company). When the two companies decided to join hands, we had inherited a multi-cultural company. The rationale for the merger was to bring together complementary skill sets of the two companies and this idea or notion of synergy, brought about by diverse people joining forces, gave us all the “Voila” moment.

For people, who initially commented that we have a spelling mistake in our company name, and for the curious, “Symbioun” is the root word for “Symbiosis”. As you can see, sharing is a key aspect of identity. We have attempted to carry this forward in our day to day operations as well as in our interactions with our customers and the world in general.

The very benefit a light weight, mobile, small device offers also makes its use limited! For example it cannot make coffee, but it could very well switch on the coffee maker as you pull in the garage.
